Red Carpet Arrivals Met Gala of Part

The rich, famous, and beautiful were out in full force last night at the 2012 Costume Institute Gala at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art. Amber Heard was one of the many gorgeous celebrities to grace the red carpet, and her ensemble of choice seemed to polarize fashion critics.

There's a lot going on with her fitted Zac Posen mermaid gown, but Amber Heard seems to have enough attitude to pull it off. It might have better suited her very tanned skin in any hue other than plum, however.

There were plenty of other stars who shined on the red carpet at the event, including Beyonce, Amy Adams, Cameron Diaz, Emma Stone, Camilla Belle, and more. The fancy evening included tons of sparkles, great food, and loads of celebrities. The annual event was put on by Vogue and co-hosted by actress Carey Mulligan.
